Is The Bible Really True?

There is no other book that comes close to being like the Bible; it is truly unique. From Genesis to Revelation, it tells one congruous story about Jesus Christ, the ultimate protagonist. Statistically, prophecy confirms the Bible is true: There are over one hundred prophecies in the Old Testament about Jesus Christ, written hundreds of years before His birth, and He fulfilled each one. The Bible is the best-selling book of all time, and it is the best-selling book every year. It has been translated into more languages than any other book. There is incredible unity to the Bible, even though it was written over a period of about sixteen hundred years. It was written in many different places: from a dungeon to the wilderness. It was written in thirteen different countries, on three different continents. It was written in three different languages by forty people in every walk of life: from peasants to kings. The Bible talks about hundreds of controversial, hot-button topics that have created debate through the centuries, yet the writers agree on them with remarkable harmony. The Bible was written in a wide variety of literary styles such as poetry, satire, historical narrative, autobiography, law, parable, and allegory. Researcher Josh McDowell asserts that “Compared with other ancient writings, the Bible has more manuscript evidence to support it than any ten pieces of classical literature combined.” The Bible is also the most loved book of all time, and the most hated. It has survived a constant onslaught of criticism and persecution, yet God has blessed civilizations that embrace it. The Bible forms one beautiful tapestry of truth that does not contradict itself theologically, morally, ethically, doctrinally, scientifically, historically, or in any other way.
